The young interpreter murdered his mother in 2020 and also put together a plan to attack the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.

The actor Ryan Granthamknown for his participation in the popular series ‘Riverdale’ and the movie ‘Greg’s diary‘, pleaded guilty to having killed his mother and was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Canadian court.

He also confessed to having conspired to assassinate Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the 24-year-old actor will not be eligible for parole for the next 14 years.

Grantham was sentenced on Thursday, after pleading guilty to the March 2020 murder of his mother, Barbara Waite, 64, whom he shot in the back of the head while playing the piano.

Prosecutors said at a hearing last June that after fatally shooting his mother at the family’s home in Squamish, British Columbia, the actor recorded a video with a GoPro camerain which he confessed to the murder and showed the lifeless body of his mother.

“I shot her in the back of the head. Moments later, she would have known it was me.”Grantham said on the recording.

After murdering the woman, the actor confessed to detectives that he had a plan to kill the prime minister, and also wrote about it in his diary. He drove for a few hours to Trudeau’s residencebut he did not commit the assassination he had prepared.

During sentencing, Judge Kathleen Ker described “saving grace” that Grantham had enough reality check and understanding not to commit an act of mass murder.
