– All regions decrease their new confirmed cases from the last 14 days
The Ministry of Health reports that new confirmed cases nationwide decreased by 34% in the last week, while in 14 days the drop was 43%. Meanwhile, all regions show a reduction in their cases in the last 14 days
Regarding the case report for this Thursday, September 22, 4,050 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, with a positivity of 8.16% in the last 24 hours nationwide, with 44,210 exams, PCR and antigen tests. Daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 8.27%.
Of the 4,050 new cases, 49% are diagnosed by antigen test, 37% are caused by Active Case Search (BAC) and 14% of those reported are asymptomatic. Regarding the Metropolitan Region, it presents 40% due to antigen, 29% due to BAC and 10% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Biobío, Maule and La Araucanía.
Meanwhile, the Ñuble region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Biobío, Maule, and Atacama regions.
According to today’s report, of the 4,050 new cases of COVID-19, 2,504 correspond to symptomatic people and 424 do not present symptoms. In addition, 1,122 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 4,594,519. Of that total, 9,816 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,514,847.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 8 deaths from causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 60,974 in the country.
To date, 138 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 83 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 276 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 44,210 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 44,845,798 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 8.16% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 8.27%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, we have 28 accommodation facilities, with a total of 1,651 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 26%, leaving a total of 976 beds available for use.
