According to a new Covid report published this morning by the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours a total of 4,559 new caseswhich represents a decrease in infections at the national level of 26% in the last week, while in 14 days the drop was 41%.
Thus, according to the figures, today all regions show a reduction in their cases in the last 14 days.
Of the deaths, the Department of Statistics and Health Information (Deis) reported today 43 deceased registeredby so the total number of deaths from causes associated with Covid-19 is estimated at 61,017.
To date, the total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country amounts to 4,599,179. Of that total, 12,202 patients are in the active stagethat is, they can infect others.
On the other hand, positivity at the national level was 8.51% based on 34,000 reported PCR tests. The Metropolitan Region, for its part, registered 9.43%. At the regional level, O’Higgins today presented the worst figure in this index with 12.53%, followed by Biobío (10.92%) and Maule (9.98%).
Ñuble, on the other hand, is the region with the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the regions of Biobío, Maule and Atacama.
As for those hospitalized by Covid, today 137 people are registered in Intensive Care Units, of which 87 are with mechanical ventilation. To date there are 262 critical beds available.
