After a period that felt eternal due to the pandemic, the D23Expo he returned to the face-to-face format in 2022 and of course he is doing it in the best way: bringing us many important announcements by Disney and its associated studies.
The activities of the conference started this weekend, just on Friday, September 9, with some surprises from both Walt Disney Studios like Pixar. And of course, we hope that there will be more interesting revelations throughout these days with Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm.

Walt Disney Studios ads and a sneak peek of ‘The Little Mermaid’
During the activities of Friday, September 9, Disney released the first official preview of the live-action of The little Mermaid with Halle Bailey as Ariel. The teaser is brief but it already gives us a good idea of what we will see on screen.
The trailer shows Ariel swimming inside a sunken ship (scene that many will remember from the 1989 animated film) while singing “Part of your World”. The tape premieres in May 2023 and here we leave the advance.
Logos, dates and details of the prequel to the Lion King, Snow White, Peter Pan and more
While the D23 Expo didn’t bring us video previews of other high-profile projects, it did give us details and some footage of several of its most notable franchises.
According to Variety, a 30-second preview of Snow White’s live action was shown, which will star Rachel Ziegler in the role of the princess, with Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen… but that advance was not released on networks. The film showed its logo and it was announced that it will be released in 2024 (there is no exact release date or season).
The logo of Mufasawhich will be a prequel to the live-action Lion King that we saw in 2019. This film, as you can imagine from the title, will show us the life of Simba’s father several years before the events of the original film. This one will arrive in 2024.
Another of the announcements that could only be seen in D23 was some footage of Peter Pan & Wendy, which includes Jude Law as Captain Hook, Alexander Molony as the lead, and Ever Anderson as Wendy. Of course, Disney showed a first official poster together and anticipating that the film will be released at some point in 2023 at Disney
What was shown from Pixar

At D23, it was announced that this film (originally titled inside-out) will have a sequel set for release in the summer of 2024. amy poehler will return to the dubbing of the original language to do the voice of Joy / Alegría. We don’t have a video preview, but we do have a very simple poster.
We have a first look at ‘Elemental’
Pixar is already preparing its next big release with Elementarya tape of which an image was presented as a first look and its official poster.
What is this story about? As the common thread of the story, we are presented with a world based on the four essential elements: fire, water, earth and air. The story will take place in a city where the inhabitants are precisely made of those elements. Some can coexist without problems and there are others outright, by their nature, it would seem that they do not have the same opportunity to coexist.
That’s when two young men known as Ember and Wade, depicted as fire and water respectively, shown to be a highly unlikely pairing.
