The Ministry of Health (min salt) reported that 93 communes in the regions of Arica and Parinacota, Atacama, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, O’Higgins, Maule, La Araucanía and Los Lagos will change phase starting on Thursday, September 22 at 5:00 a.m., within the framework of the plan Step by Step governed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among the main communes that will benefit from the announcement, are Arica, Copiapó, Los Andes, San Fernando, Talca, Temuco, Osorno and Puyehue among other.

“With this, practically the entire country is in the green or Low Sanitary Impact phase starting next Thursday. Opening the way to a responsible opening and also to gaining greater freedoms”commented the undersecretary of Public Health, Cristóbal Cuadrado.

In detail, the changes are as follows:

Advance to Low Sanitary Impact

Arica and Parinacota Region: Arica, Camarones, Putre and General Lagos.

Atacama Region: Copiapó, Caldera and Tierra Amarilla.

Coquimbo Region: Illapel, Canela, Los Vilos, Salamanca, Ovalle, Combarbalá, Monte Patria, Punitaqui and Río Hurtado.

Valparaiso Region: Los Andes, Calle Larga, Rinconada, San Esteban, San Felipe, Catemu, Llay llay, Panquehue, Putaendo, Santa María, Quilpué, Limache, Olmué and Villa Alemana.

O’Higgins Region: San Fernando, Chépica, Chimbarongo, Lolol, Nancagua, Palmilla, Peralillo, Placilla, Pumanque and Santa Cruz.

Maule Region: Talca, Constitución, Curepto, Empedrado, Maule, Pelarco, Pencahue, Río Claro, San Clemente, San Rafael, Cauquenes, Chanco, Pelluhue, Linares, Colbún, Longaví, Parral, Retiro, San Javier, Villa Alegre and Yerbas Buenas.

Araucania region: Temuco, Carahue, Cunco, Curarrehue, Freire, Galvarino, Gorbea, Lautaro, Loncoche, Melipeuco, Nueva Imperial, Padre Las Casas, Perquenco, Pitrufquén, Pucón, Saavedra, Teodoro Schmidt, Toltén, Vilcún, Villarrica and Cholchol.

Lakes Region: Osorno, Puerto Octay, Purranque, Puyehue, Río Negro, San Juan de la Costa, San Pablo, Chaitén, Futaleufú, Hualaihué and Palena.

During this day, the Ministry of Health reported 1,353 new cases of covid-19 nationwide, with a positivity of 7.31% in the last 24 hours, with 15,378 exams, PCR and antigen tests. Daily positivity in the Metropolitan region is 6.20%.
